The Syrian occupation has left a power void , an intellectual drain and an existentialist crisis in Lebanon. It is up to the Lebanese in the diaspora to fill the gap and rebuild a 21st century Lebanon.
Interesting point you raise there Jack. Do you suppose the Lebanese in Lebanon are incapable of self-government? Why would the Lebanese abroad be more capable and how? Was it a mistake to make the Syrians leave? I am not Lebanese but I am interested in understanding in what's happening in this country.

I agree with Jack. We need some form of outside supervision to properly govern Lebanon. The Lebanese leadership is lacking in every sense of the word. Perhaps the UN Security Council can delegate the supervision to a country from the G8 with a mandate to bring us up to speed with today's world after 30 years of regressive Syrian domination.
