I salute the Lebanese youths who gathered in Martyrs Square in Beirut on September 29, 2005, to condemn the attack on May Chidiac.
I salute them and stand by them as I did with my people on March 14, 2005.
But I caution against the hidden motives of some among them who may be planning to use the movement and the Lebanese people again for their own political agenda. Many of us know how many organizers of the March 14th demonstration saw used it as a simple election rally; and once they took office they forgot the people. They even forgot some organizers who paid with their blood and life:
They forgot Georges Hawi and they forgot Samir Kassir.
They forgot them so much to the point where their own Minister of Interior said they are not even investigating their murders. More than 3 months after they were killed, the Seniora government has no concrete leads. I take it the best Mr. Seniora and Mr. Sabeh could offer the Lebanese people is prayers that God may somehow expose these terrorists or inspire them to stop killing innocent Christians.
Today, the people and the youths are called upon to gather again and say Kafa. It is a noble and commendable cause on its face; but the big surprise is that many demonstrators on Martyrs Square today carried anti-Lahoud slogans calling for his resignation.
My questions to the organizers of “Kafa” are:
What is it exactly that you want? Do you want to stop the terrorism that visits the Christians in Lebanon on a regular basis? Or do you simply want to use the Christians, one more time, in a dirty scheme to oust President Lahoud?
Forgive me for being a cynic but our experience with previous demonstrations was not very encouraging. March 14th was used by the Hariri camp to secure a non-representative, albeit significant, majority in Parliement leaving the majority of the people out. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Or as we say in Arabic: “La Yuldaghou l'mou'minou min al jou7ri marratayn.”
As for Lahoud, he is no doubt a scarecrow who lost all initiative in Lebanon but he does serve but one positive role: he is the only barrier left between Saad Hariri and a totalitarian regime in Lebanon. Lahoud is the only guarantee for the FPM, Amal and Hezbollah that they have a voice in Parliament. If Lahoud is gone without an agreement on the next president, no one will be able to question what the Hariri camp is planning and no one knows what they will do. After all they too seem to have NO initiative but to play the wait and see game. It is a very scary thought knowing how incompetent they proved to be over the last 3 months and I hate to see them rule without proper checks and balances.
Our democracy is not perfect but let’s do the best we can with what we have.

I am very sorry and I feel really saddened by what happened to May Chidiac. But I think that LBC has foound in the attack on her their own Rafic Hariri and they are beating the drums of the attack on her day and night.
Why?
Are the Lebanese Forces trying to push some kind of agenda through this terrorist act?
Why wasn't everybody angry at the dozens that were killed or maimed since the Hariri assassination? Those don't count or what? They belonged to no party, and they were not rich and famous? or what? Do we even know their names? I bet you even Hassan Essabeh has no records of who they were. Or may be he has but he never bothered to look at them.
So yes I say Kafa. Kfa Ta' 7anak we Kafa moutajara bi 3awatef eshsha3eb.
Enough B. S. We need to see some action.

I said a prayer for May. I hope she recuperates well and she does not suffer any linguering pains.
I think LBC was about to take the slippery slope like the "Future" guys but I think they are now maintaining a level of professionalism.
