Did Walid Jumblat order the assassination of Samir Kassir in collaboration with the Syrian intelligence services? Is he a Syrian Trojan Horse leading the anti-Syrian movement in Lebanon to its demise?
Here is the plot:
As Syria was coming under international pressure to implement UNSC 1559, and as it became aware of the necessity to withdraw its troops from Lebanon, and cognizant of the role of Rafic Hariri in all of that, it wanted to get out while making sure it had secured pro-Syrian politics in Lebanon. Who was her best peon? Walid Jumblat.
Syria eliminates Hariri and calls upon Jumblat to play the role of the leader of the opposition in order to bring under his leadership all those opposed to Syrian policies. Once that mission was accomplished and Syrian troops left Lebanon, Jumblat’s mission became to force an election of parliament under a law promulgated by Syria and as Syria always wanted it to be: Syrian! The purpose was to bring in a majority of pro-Syrian deputies under an election where Syria had apparently no direct role. This is exactly what happened in Beirut, this is exactly what happened in the South and this is what is planned for the rest of Lebanon. No major changes in the seat holders. Probably the newly-elected parliament will be made of 80-90% of the old deputies with the other 20% being those of Aoun and Geagea. So if 80% of the 2000 deputies are back, how can argue that Syria is no longer in control the same way it was in the past? Do they want the people to believe that those outgoing 20% of the deputies were really the bad apples and the 80% were forced to abide by the decision of the minority?
Few believers in true freedom like Samir Kassir got wind of that and before he could alert the people to the truth of what was going on, he was executed. He was executed by the secret protectors of the Syrian interests in Lebanon, by his own security detail, by Walid Jumblat’s officer.
France, who was fooled by Jumblat's apparent de-Syrianization, was shocked to learn that Kassir's driver, Jumblatt's man, is possibly the one who planted the bomb under Kassir's seat; so they sent after Walid Beik to investigate with him.
This is not the first time that Walid Jumblat stabs his friends and his people in the back. The guy is an unprincipled man; he cannot be trusted; he changes with the wind. There is no reason why he could not be the Syrian Trojan Horse brought in to diffuse the anti-Syrian movement in Lebanon, containing the anger of the Lebanese against Syria after the assassination of Hariri (the Sunnis in particular), and channeling it towards the Lebanese security systems and Lahoud. He know of the plot to kill Hariri, he was aware of the plot to kill Kassir and he could have been masterminding the whole thing.
Beware of Jumblat.

I think the trojan horse is michel aoun. he came in as the general of liberation, only to ally himself with the cronies of syria and promote them to the parliament. He is the one who backstabbed the opposition and is dividing the ranks not walid jumblat. have the LF and the kataeb also followed Jumblat in support of Syria? No my dear, only Lahoud and his security systems are the syrian cronies here. they killed hariri, they killed kassir and they are trying to kill jumblat.

Michel Aoun, ya 3azizi, spent 15 years in exile because he refused to accept any Syrian deals. He only returned to Lebanon after the Syrians had left. He did not deal with them when they were at the peak of their power; do you expect us to believe that he will deal with them as their regime is collapsing? Wake up please and try to think beyond your nose.
Walid Jumblat, on the other hand, has been in the lap of the Syrians ever since they killed his father; he fought alongside them, killing Lebanese since 1984. He would like us to believe that he had a change of heart overnight, and he has suddenly become a Lebanese nationalist. Let’s not forget that he and his allies were, for 15 years, part of the security system they claim to be attacking today. Even if you were to believe that he really had a change of heart, how would you explain his alliance with Amal, Hizbollah, Syrian Baath and Kawmi Souri? Are these not Syrian cronies but Talal Arslan and Omar Karami are? Is this really the case here? No my friend: Jumblat wants to be the sole broker on the Lebanese political scene so that he can sell us to whomever he wishes, the highest bidder. He can sign on the nationalization of the Palestinians, disarmament of Hezbollah or not, and other stuff. The reason he does not want Karami, is because Karami may not be as easily manipulated by him as young Saad Hariri would and that is a problem for Jumblat. The reason he does not want Talal Arslan, is because Talal is his rival and may challenge his leadership of his clan. So he makes these pseudo-national claims and false accusations against his opponents in an election campaign to drive them out of the decision-making process and remain the sole broker for Syria in Lebanon. Otherwise, the Syrians fear a free-minded Sunni may act solo and take over the reins of the opposition and have a true challenge to Syrian domination over Lebanon. Walid Jumblat is the Trojan horse.

I think WJ is a Syrian Trojan horse. He has managed to change colors in time to sabotage true anti-Syrian movements and contain their anger and close the door on other anti-Syrian groups from spearheading the opposition. Now it would be interesting to see if WJ will revert to his original colors.
