DemocrayInLebanon.org has posted Edmond Saab article (http://www.democracyinlebanon.org/Documents/EdmondSaab-Annahar.htm),
it is a very good one, and it is worth discussing.

I think it is enough for Bkerki to interfer in the political issues, since it has made many major errors and is leading the christians from one pitfall to the other !!

It is true that the law 2000 is unfair, however it is also true that Bkerki is soooooooo late in its reaction and was very naive is loosing the opportunity.

It appeared ,weeks ago, that the 1960 law won't be accepted and won't pass in the parliament. But Nasrallah Sfeir did nothing to avoid the vacuum ! When there were talks about Mohafaza With Propoetions, he replied to the reporter who asked his opinion "Can you explain to us what is proportion?!". I wonder how can a responsible person say such thing. For God sake if he were not aware of what is the proportion law, let him bring someone to explain it to him, and make him understand that it is the best law and is very representative.

I can not assure that Amal & Hizballah were serious about proportion law but at least Bkerki coul have pushed them reveal their own intentions. We could have avoided all this mess....

With all my respect to Bkerki, it should stop its interference with the political life, because it has proven for the nth time that it is not skilled in this domain !!!!!

It is a slippery slope that Bkerki has taken.
The elections will take place as scheduled; any boycott by the Christians will have no effect on the outcome of the elections but will severely weaken the Christian community in Lebanon.

I guess the opposition screwed Aoun after all and isolated him. Any idea why?

You can't jump to such conclusion yet. The battle did not start yet.
However they are trying to isolate him because he wanted reform, and independent investigation in the state financial issues
